Gratitude + Don’t Be Surprised

Today, I’m feeling so much gratitude.

Yesterday, I had lunch with a longtime friend I had not seen in years. Great guy!

As we were catching up, I found myself walking through the high moments and the low moments of the past 20 years since we first met.

Naturally, we talked about business. For years, he was part of the artist management team for one of my favorite artists. He’s been around the block and understands what I was talking about.

But, as I reflect further today, I am filled with so much gratitude for everything that has taken place and for every person who has or still is involved or connected.

When you understand who you are and the talents in your possession, and if you pair that with grit, determination, and integrity, don’t be surprised by what you see when you look back.

I believe that some of you are forerunners, trailblazers, and pioneers, and you will see the effects of that woven throughout your life if you haven’t already.

When you do see it, just be grateful, continue to serve and give to others, and keep your head down while you continue charting into new territory. And don’t worry about those who do not or cannot understand your assignment.
