From Vision to Reality

I grew up in a small country town in North Carolina.

My grandpa was a business owner, my dad became a business owner, and I always seemed to have a desk in my bedroom.

I was terrible with reading but enjoyed and excelled at math. I was very precise. If you asked me my height, I made sure you knew my exact number of feet and inches.

The detail mattered...because the detail was correct.

My grandpa and dad had an office as a kid; visiting it was awesome. My bedroom desk always seemed to feel important.

And music was everywhere on both sides of my family, from my brothers and uncles to my grandmother.

However, when I became a teenager, music became my own. It's almost like I discovered that music was a part of me...and I came alive.

Joining a thriving local church, I became involved in a musical and administrative capacity. It's almost as if my surroundings placed an innate curiosity inside me, and the things I liked collided with a new reality.

Fast forward several years...I'm in Texas and meet some of my new lifelong friends. In no time, while in college full-time, I am managing our band, tour schedule, and non-profit.

I was practically living on airplanes as a globetrotter...and eventually found myself leading worship in front of 70,000 people in the Tennessee Titans stadium and in front of the capitol building in Washington D.C.

Lastly, the work of my hands eventually led me to receive multiple music publishing awards, including two Dove Awards through the Gospel Music Association, an ASCAP Song of the Year, and a BMI award for national broadcast success.

In my possession were three things:

Curiosity, passion, and an unshakeable understanding of who I was and what I was supposed to be doing.
